Fruit of
the Loom

Illustration, Marketing Support, Event

I was chosen among a few other notable artists to produce original designs for Fruit of the Loom to tour Japan to promote through art events for their new ‘fruit dyed’ t-shirt collection.

  • The client wanted to promote a new series of t-shirts by adding unique designs connected to the Fruit of the Loom history and heritage. Each artist made a series of designs that were printed onto thirst as well as used as series of limited artwork. I was asked to prepare something directly connected to Fruit of the Loom’s heritage.

  • To meet the client’s needs, I conducted thorough research into vintage design work, focusing on elements that highlighted Fruit of the Loom’s heritage. I created a set of simplistic, typographical designs and a utilitarian camouflage pattern that referenced the brand’s historical military connections. One design prominently featured original typography inspired by classic Fruit of the Loom logos, while the other incorporated a modern twist on camouflage patterns to create a unique and appealing aesthetic.

  • The designs received an overwhelmingly positive response, selling out quickly and prompting the client to reprint them and extend the line to include children’s sizes. The illustrative work was well-received at the art events, helping to successfully promote the ‘fruit dyed’ t-shirt collection and reinforcing the brand’s historical narrative. The events themselves attracted significant attention and increased brand visibility in the Japanese market.
